Just about anything mechanical interests Rich(Grease) and his wife/business partner Amanda (Beauty).
Machines have been a passion of Rich's his whole life. He went from a little boy playing and trying to figure out "how things work," to restoring his first car (an 80 Camaro), to joining the United States Airforce as an aircraft mechanic working on Boeing 747-200 aircraft where he successfully studied and received his A&P license. After his enlistment was finished, he could have worked on large commercial aircraft, however, he decided to take a more creative route. Since then, Rich's career has been involved in the wide field of Manufacturing Engineering. From building prototypes in an R&D shop to setting up production facilities, he has handled a multitude of challenges in many different areas of manufacturing. Rich has a working knowledge and experience with many types of production equipment from basic lathes and mills, lasers, waterjets, routers, precision grinders, welding, CNC equipment, CAD, CAM, saws, automation, building one-of-a-kind assembly machines, and even specific machines for custom manufacturing. For 16+ years, Rich owned, grew, and sold a highly successful high tolerance cutting business using waterjet and laser cutting technologies. The next logical and fun step for him?........CONTINUE TO DESIGN AND BUILD......Hence, the commencement of JET72, LLC!
Amanda attended Purdue University with the intent of becoming a Mechanical Engineer with an Actuary Science Minor. In true student fashion, she changed her major in the middle of her junior year (insert parent sigh here...lol). There is a happy ending to her career switch though. She graduated from Purdue with a Bachelor's of Science in Early Childhood Education and Intervention. This is probably why she is so good with Rich and his child like love of machines. For 20 years, Amanda worked her way from Teacher to Principal, with two Master's Degrees, before retiring from education. Now, as Director of Business Operations for her families' manufacturing companies (insert parent celebration here!) she utilizes her leadership skills daily. She brings these years of operational experience, communication, and organizational skills to Jet72, LLC.
